I'm in Heaven, we have A GARDEN!

Je suis au paradis, nous avons un jardin!

There are roses...

Il y a des roses...

et plus à venir...

and oleanders (exactly the shade of red I love)...

et des lauriers, exactement le couleur de rouge que j'adore...

and everywhere these yellow ones.

et partout ces fleurs jaunes.

I'm dreaming of a vegetable patch behind that olive tree.

Je rêve d'un potager derrière cet olivier.

SAYING FAREWELL

Plage de Piémanson, Salin de Giraud, Camargue

Today, as the weather was magnificent, a real Indian Summer day, I went to my favorite beach, Plage de Piémanson near Arles to say goodbye to the sea. Tomorrow it is officially the first day of Autumn and I believe that the weather is accordingly becoming cooler. So the days spent at the sea will become few. And anyhow this weekend we will be moving farther from the sea. Maybe I'll find a new beach, easier to reach from the new village.

J'ai profité de la journée magnifique d'aujourd'hui, le dernier jour avant le début officiel de l'automne, pour aller à la plage et dire au revoir à la mer. Je n'aurais surement pas l'occasion d'y retourner cette année puisque le temps se rafraichit et en même temps nous déménageons plus loin de la mer. Au revoir le sable, au revoir les flamants roses.

MOVIN'

Autumn is here. These are the last roses our Papa Meilland rosebushes gave us. We are moving house this week and I think I'll prune the roses hoping they will revive in the new garden. Have been too busy to take a look at all the photos I've been taking, I hope I'll get some time to put some on line after the big circus.

Earliet this summer I got this lovely old bicycle, soon I'll be discovering the new region on this beauty.

L'automne est arrivé mais je ne suis pas nostalgique. J'ai atteint une nouvelle décennie, à partir de cette semaine j'aurais une nouvelle région à découvrir, cet hiver j'entamerai une nouvelle formation et derrière une nouvelle carrière. La vie est belle!

AFTER THE RAIN

Yesterday morning I saw our new village in the tv news. It has been rainig heavily and they were talking about flooding in the village. Nice. I'm impatient to move there!

The petanque field in Fourques was a swimming pool the next morning.  

  

But in  fact the house, a new, modern pavillon was fine, dry and clean. It is going to be a new life and I suppose I'm going to miss Arles, Camargue, the sea...

But we have a car and can get around. And there are a lot of nice little towns to discover nearby.

So, a few more pictures from Fourques, to say good bye. In two weeks' time we will be gone.

It is a start of a new life for us, a new region to discover. And I will be taking a new step toward fullfilling my dream this winter since I have been accepted in agricultural school, learning medicinal plants. So, I'm afraid there will be a lot more pictures of plants here.

Puisque nous allons bientôt partir du village de Fourques je mets encore quelques photos en ligne. Dans quelques semaines nous serons des habitants d'un petit village près d'Alés. Une nouvelle maison, une nouvelle région à découvrir, une nouvelle vie. Pour moi aussi, j'ai été admise en formation des plantes médicinales. Il y aura surement encore plus de photos de plantes ici.

WHEN IN ARLES DO AS THE ROMANS DO

These Roman legionaries were a part of the Roman Week a week ago. It's a fun occasion, especially to children where there is lots to see, to do and to taste. It goes on every August in the old Roman city of Arles and is highly recommended by me to the child in every one of you!

I had the chance to take some pictures of the military doing their drill in the Espace Van Gogh, freshly painted in the colours seen in a picture by Vincent Van Gogh of this former hospital building.

Ces legionnaires faisaient des manoeuvres pendant la Semaine romaine à Arles il y a une semaine. Il y a beaucoup à voir, à faire et à experimenter tous les ans au mois d'Août. Ces photos sont prises à l'Espace Van Gogh, peint aux couleurs du tableau que le peintre Vincent Van Gogh a fait de cette ancienne batisse de l'hôpital.
